Create a Relaxing Environment

We all need a relaxing oasis. A place where we can escape the chaos of the hectic times in our lives. You can create a relaxing environment for yourself, a space that you can call your own.
Find a spot that you can claim for yourself. It can be a spot in your bedroom, bathroom, family room or a room that you don’t quite know what to do with. You can even use a part of your yard, garage or guest house (if you have one) to create a relaxing environment.
Create a basket filled with your favorite relaxation items. Add some books, candles, essential oils, oil burners, journals, pens, pencils, crayons, coloring books, timer, music, mp3 or CD player. Whatever the items are, use them for only your special relaxation moments. Make this basket especially yours by decorating it in a unique way that says, “YOU”.
Construct and perfect a relaxation sitting area. Add a desk, unique table, chaise lounge, or a recliner. Set up your relaxation goodies and lay claim to that spot. Tell your family that no one is to touch that area without your permission because that is your spot. You can even encourage them to create their own relaxation hub.
Soothe your senses. When it is time for you to have a moment of peace and quiet, take a hot bath or shower. Then grab a nice cup of herbal tea like peppermint or chamomile and head to your sacred area. Welcome your relaxation time with some music or take a moment in silence or prayer. You can choose to do whatever activity is in your basket. You may want to journal your day, color a picture or write a book if you dare. Whatever you choose make the time all about you.
Sacred Glo lotion candles would be perfect to have at your side during your relaxing moments. You will find the scented candles a huge help as you relax and forget the chaotic moments you have escaped from, if only for a moment in time. Our candles contain ingredients that will enhance – mind, body (moisturize your skin after a hot bath or shower), and spirit.

Why Eat Whole Foods

When you hear the term whole foods you should think vegetables, fruits, and whole, unprocessed grains, nuts, and legumes. Foods are considered whole when they are not processed in any way, have no added fat, sugars, or salt.
One should never confuse whole foods with organic foods – there is a difference. Whole foods can have pesticides and herbicides – organic foods do not. If you choose to switch over to whole food diet, make sure to buy organic whole foods for a healthier experience.
The whole food experience is enriched when one consumes as much of it in raw form as possible. Raw foods carry enzymes that your body needs for proper nutrition. The enzymes help your body’s digestive system thus allowing nutrients to distribute through your body as needed.
There are many reasons why one should consider whole foods.
-
Eating whole foods fills your body with thousands of phytonutrients. These phytonutrients have health-promoting properties alone with vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients like fiber and beneficial fats. When food is processed, the vital nutrients necessary for good health are removed.
-
By nature, whole foods differ from refined foods in that they are not processed with many chemical additives. Some of these additives are thought to be linked to a host of skin, pulmonary and psycho-behavioral conditions.
-
By eating a whole food diet the toxicity in your body is lowered as a result of the elimination of added fat, sugar, refined flour, sodium, and other ingredients that can encumber your body.
-
You can also avoid the high cost of supplements by eating whole foods. Your body is getting the majority of the nutrients it needs with a whole food diet. You will find that you need very little by way of supplements when you eat whole foods
For optimum nutrition adapting whole foods into your daily diet should be standard. There are so many benefits to the consumption of whole foods. To learn more about the wonderful benefits of whole foods study, research, ask around and read, read, read. Your life will be more enriched with a whole food diet. Good food makes for a happy body and home.
Take Control of Your Destiny

It is a sad state of affairs when more than half of the people in our society live a limited life without opportunities to live out their passion. Life can be absolutely beautiful and full of joy and happiness if one takes the time to catch hold of their destiny. Now that does not mean that there won’t be troubles or thorns that pierce you in the side. But you can learn to walk through with a smile in your heart that shines when you learn to hold tight to that which is yours to live.
As you strive to live your destiny, there a few keys you need to include in your life.
-
Have Your Own Rules: You want to be sure that you have a set of standards, morals, and values that will guide you daily as you step into the walk of your destiny.
-
Don’t Seek Permission: Try not to look to others for validation or permission to do what you know needs to be done. Sure you can get advice and seek the word of your mentors. However, the ultimate choice is yours. In the end you have to answer for how you choose to live out your life.
-
Stand Strong: It is important that you not waiver in the midst of living in your destiny. You may have moments of weakness and that is perfectly normal. We all do. But don’t let everyone know what is going on with you. Find a few trusted folks to be your shoulders and your arms when you feel like the strength you have is fading fast. The best way to stand strong is to stand with others.
-
Have a Sense of Commitment: Don’t give up. Start what you finish, even if you fall. A man will fall, there is not getting around that. Failure and setbacks are to be expected. What you have to ask yourself is how you are going to deal with it. Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.” -George Washington Carver -
-
Get Knowledge: Please don’t think that you don’t need to know something to live out your destiny because you do. Never stop learning and gaining knowledge.
-
Seek and Grab Opportunity: Look for every open door with your name on it and know which ones are not
yours to go through.
Taking control of your destiny is a very smart thing to do. Don’t allow the next person to take what truly belongs to you.
Chemicals in Your Body

You may find it hard to believe but there are many chemicals that find their way into your body. It is important to know what goes in and on your body. Take the time to research and learn what is harmful and potentially deadly.
When you choose cosmetics and household cleaners, you want to avoid or minimize the following:
- Products that contain ingredients that you could not possibly spell or pronounce. These are usually synthetic (“man-made”) chemicals that have not been tested for their effects on human health.
- Products with strong scents or odors. This includes perfume, cologne, scented lotion, powder, etc. These items contain chemicals called volatile organic compounds which destroy brain cells, disrupt hormone function and can cause cancer. When inhaled, these volatile organic compounds can easily get into the brain, bloodstream and organs. As toxic vapors, volatile organic compounds also “offgas” from new plastics, carpeting and toys, nail polish, paint, etc. Avoid or “air-out” these items for as long as possible before installing or placing them in a closed-room.
- Products with ingredients listed as “fragrance”, “perfume” or “scent”.
- Products with “Warning”, “Caution”, or “Danger: labels (i.e., cleaning products and pesticides). These labels are there because one or more of the ingredients has the potential for causing serious harm or death. Don’t ignore the signs.
For safer cosmetics and household cleaners options and alternatives, look for:
- Products labeled as organic and all natural. Don’t just pick up something because it says that it is all natural. Read further to see how these terms are defined. To ensure organic standards, look for “USDA Certified Organic” or “Quality Assurance International” labels.
- Personal care products with plant-based oils such as almond oil or jojoba, rather than petroleum or mineral based oils. You also want to be sure that what you pick up has an ingredients list you can read and understand.
- Simple, natural cleaners such as baking soda, vinegar, and lemon juice. Avoid antibacterial (e.g., triclosan) in all products since they are unnecessary for effective cleaning and can create antibiotic-resistant bacteria that cause serious health problems. Aim for the power of essentials oils when it comes to necessary antibacterial or antifungal products.
Your body does not have to suffer from harsh toxic chemicals.
