Working Women of Tampa Bay – “Making your Dreams a Reality in 2009!”

Do you have a local B2B support network in your area?

Last night I had the honor and privilege to network with like-minded women from the Tampa Bay area. This networking “party” was eventful, informative and fun. The women in attendance were from all walks of life; strong positive women; each doing something meaningful in life.

The event was hosted by Working Women of Tampa Bay. We kicked off the night at Aquastone Well Spa where we were in a circle of support where we introduced ourselves and business. Then we ended the evening at Maison Rouge where the women mixed, mingled, and embraced one another. We came together to “share ideas, network, and have fun! Believe me, it was not the average boring networking event either. We had FUN.

There were awesome goody bags AND we even had amazing prizes! I WON one of the best prizes; a one night retreat at the Mansion House Bed & Breakfast. If you are in Tampa, Florida check them out here: www.mansionbandb.com or www.stpeteweddings.com. Mansion House Bed & Breakfast is a perfect place to take along your Sacred Glo Candles!

I discovered little Tampa Bay finds (owned by local women) that I did not know existed!

Are you stressed out or just want a little pampering. Aquastone Well Spa is the place go. “Relax your mind or rejuvenate your body.” They offer Thai massages to cocktail facials, from pedicures to Tai Chi classes; the unique, the rare and the most enjoyable experiences in the bay area.” www.aquastonewellspa.com

Hey, Victoria Secret, I have a SECRET! Maison Rouge lingerie. Rhonda (owner) says, “We are nothing like Victoria Secret who has one size fits SMALL.” This shop carries women sizes  ALL the way up to a size 4x and the prices ARE reasonable. So if you want high quality, sexy or modest lingerie, bras, panties, bridal, shapewear, longewear, accessories and candles, go to www.maisonroughe.com or visit her store in St. Pete, Florida. Oh, don’t be surprised if you find Sacredglo lotion candles at Madison Rouge and Aquastone well spa soon!

When I go to Mansion Bed and Breakfast, I might even go purchase a sexy piece of lingerie from Madison Rouge.

Madison Rouge also hosts bridal, birthday, and girl’s night out parties. I must admit, Madison Rouge hosts a good party. My face is still hurting from laughing and smiling so much!

Another highlight of the night was getting chance to meet model Kelly Repassy who models for HSN (Home Shopping Network). Kelly was a delight; down to earth. Kelly said, “I am a woman of size NOT size tag.” I love it! Get to know Kelly at www.kellyrepassy.com.

There was a book signing session with Janet Conner, author of “writing down my soul.” (ISBN: 978-1-57324-356-8) “How Do I Write Down My Soul?” According to Janet, “Show up, Open up, Listen up and Follow up.” You can visit Janet at www.writingjownyoursoul.com

The networking “party” was a way for local women owned businesses to gather together to simply support and get to know each other in a fun and warm way. I found it a joy to be in the company of so many fabulous positive women who have purpose and loved the life they live!

Other attendees:

Buying Handmade Products

January 15, 2009 by Ederle

There are many people who spend hours creating handmade products with the intention of selling to consumers who appreciate good quality products. A person who makes handmade products does so with the utmost care and attention. By creating in this way, they are assured that what they are making is the best for their customers. This makes using handmade products a beneficial and wise choice.

Some of the benefits of using handmade products:

  • Healthier
  • Free of hazardous material
  • Biodegradable
  • Environmentally friendly

All of these are a plus for the eco-friendly consumer.

You are getting a product that is more likely to be healthier for you and your family as opposed to the large manufacturer brands which tend to have toxic chemicals that can cause or worsen conditions like allergies.

Handmade products are also more cost-effective. Most handmade products are sold directly from the creator, removing the cost of the middle man and unnecessary taxes and surcharges. While handmade products may seem more expensive, you are getting more for your money because you’re not paying for the extra expenses figured into the cost of mass-produced products.

When you buy handmade products, you are supporting small business owners who put more heart into the product and provide better customer service with a personal touch. With the decline of quality customer service from major companies and the growing desire to contribute to our local communities, consumers are doing more to support small business owners.

There are many more reasons to buy handmade items but the few covered here speak volumes about the benefits of buying and using handmade products.
